Management Accountant

CIMA qualified Management Accountant currently working for a world leading security company and previous to that in the Logistics and Supply Chain industry. Experience covers sectors including healthcare, leasing, defence, telecommunications, pharmaceutical and the travel industries. Has strong analytical skills coupled with a high level of Excel and commercial awareness. Adopts a methodical and organised approach to meet management reporting requirements and tight deadlines. Good attention to detail, accurate and has the ability to withstand pressure with a delivery focused approach. Adaptable, flexible and committed to the environment, and likes to challenge the status quo and identify ways to improve efficiency. A confident communicator with both non-finance and external foreign contacts complimented with excellent interpersonal skills.

Managed and validated over £300k of intercompany costs on a monthly basis
Created reporting to analyse £12m revenue and 1300 assets for strategic decisions and to manage risk
Management of reporting contractual costs of £8m
Implemented process of weekly accounts for £36m contract, including weekly payroll for 250 employees and a database for 200 units
Implemented online expenses system for 200 staff to replace the paper system
Implemented reporting to allocate £1.5m of cash to over 7000 work orders backdated 18 months
Collated reporting for backup to validate £600k of historical deferred costs for presentation to the customer to secure payment at quarter end
Collated and analysed 3,500 cost lines to assist in the delivery against the 5 year strategy for growth of maintenance services
Analysed overhead costs amounting to £10m to ensure accuracy within divisions
Updated and maintained a leasing portfolio containing 3,000 deals, with an asset cost of £500m
Reported and allocated revenue against the equipment residual investments of around £33m
Implemented a new Resource Management Computer system controlling call volumes of circa 20,000 a day and the resource level requirements
Assisted in carrying out due diligence on the purchase of a new vehicle leasing portfolio valued at £80m

Working closely with the Head of Finance and Operations to provide ad hoc financial analysis to support the business
Develop a detailed understanding of the contract portfolio and provide appropriate challenges in order to build knowledge and identify areas of risk
Preparation of monthly management accounts including intra-company costs and analysis of variances to budget, communicating any issues and resolving in a timely manner
Prepare and maintain integrity of monthly balance sheet reconciliations for all contracts, ensuring sufficient evidence is available for audit
Ensure appropriate action is being taken to mitigate risks and deliver opportunities with continuous review of financial controls and processes used by the business
Liaise with Group internal audit and external auditors, ensuring audit deliverables and queries are resolved in a timely manner
