Management Accountant / Finance Business Partner

Immediately available CIMA qualified Management Accountant / Finance Business Partner with 12 years of post-qualified experience in listed multinationals, regional family-owned companies, and the public sector.   • Provide financial advice, support and challenge to cost centre managers, including reporting to the Board and scrutiny of financial implications of all policy proposals
  • Support the Head of Finance in the delivery of effective financial analysis, financial monitoring and business service support to clients and the company
  • Support the Head of Finance to ensure the effective management of the budget process within client functions, including the preparation of financial plans, revenue and capital budgets and other financial information required for Leadership and Management Teams in accordance with timetables and procedures
  • Demonstrate people management skills, promoting a positive culture, motivating teams and employees and effectively translating best practice HR initiatives within the overall context of company employment policies and procedures
  • Continuously review sales ledger and purchase ledger and categorisation of transactions on nominal ledger
  • Production of monthly management accounts with accompanying analysis and commentary for all stakeholders
  • Preparation of trial balance, balance sheet, and profit & loss account with accompanying analysis and commentary for all stakeholders
  • Month end commentary and analysis of sales and margin comparisons to budget and prior year, liaison with sales teams to understand/challenge, and draw insight on performance, risks, and opportunities using a balanced scorecard approach
  • Costing & pricing of all proprietary NPD, analysis of supplier cost price increases, gross margin variance analysis at product and customer dimensions
  • Steer effective budget management and forecasting for multiple, distinct, and diverse profits & losses through ownership of budget preparation and engagement with stakeholders
  • Support the Managing Director /Finance Director in the preparation and negotiation of supplier agreements, ensuring fulfilment/compliance for the length of the agreement
  • Support decision making across the business with insightful and accurate recommendations, communicating technical financial information in a non-financial language, ensuring complex data becomes clear and concise information
  • Operate an open desk policy for colleagues to help them ‘self-serve’ and work more effectively
  • Report building and creation of ad hoc analytical tools
  • Supporting the business in the evaluation, development, and adoption of new software/systems/processes
  • Day to day management of intangible commercial assets such as trademarks, licensing agreements, service contracts, and brand equity
  • Be a visible and vocal advocate for high standards of ethical behaviour and adherence to management reporting best practice through mentoring, inductions, cross departmental working
