Financial Accountant

Are you recruiting for a Financial Accountant? ACA qualified Accountant with over 5 years’ experience delivering external audits, service charge examinations, internal audits and accounts preparation for housing associations, charities and some private sector clients, including Public Interest Entities (PIEs). Experienced in managing day-to-day financial processes, analysing financial performance, improving controls and supporting operational decision-making.  Recognised for technical expertise, strong client communication and proven leadership ability, with rapid progression to Manager within 5 years, and additional training in health and safety, fire safety and first aid.

Communication skills

  • Strong communication skills with stakeholders and led key management client discussions providing both financial and non-financial recommendations and analysis of results
  • Ability to communicate and collaborate with all levels of staff from new summer placements to collaborative tasks with other managers

 

Technical Skills

  • Strong technical accounting knowledge with experience preparing and reviewing financial statements and analysing financial performance
  • Demonstrated strong analytical skills, investigating and querying significant variances ensuring accuracy to explain financial results clearly which has helped identify recommendations for system improvements

 

 

Initiative and Leadership

  • Manager on 15+ external audits and service charges, leading teams of 1 – 4 people per client
  • Took ownership of complex audit areas, independently resolving issues and advised on the correct accounting treatments where issues were identified

 

Other skills

  • Experience using Microsoft Office suite such as Word and Powerpoint
  • Advanced Excel skills, including Vlookups and Xlookups with continued ongoing training
