Financial Controller

A highly driven and motivated CIMA qualified Financial Controller who has successfully worked in team management roles and has very strong interpersonal skills and work ethic.

  • Responsible for the day-to-day financial operations of the business
  • Responsible for managing the finances and accounts for the business, encompassing the Accounts and Payroll teams
  • Responsible for implementation of finance related projects including a change of accounting software, improved business reporting, and modernisation of the payroll function
  • Responsible for liaising with the auditors for the annual financial accounts audit
  • Processing payment applications and certificates both upstream to clients and downstream from subcontractors
  • Presentation of financial results to the company management and Directors
  • Overseeing the operating cashflow of the business, taking required actions to maintain sufficient levels and prioritise spending of cash to continue running the business
  • Overseeing and managing the preparation of monthly and yearly accounts, including balance sheet reconciliations, accruals/prepayments and variance analysis vs budgets and prior periods
  • Creation and control of internal business processes relating to the finance function
  • Ensuring that job costings are up-to-date and accurate; allowing for correct accounting of project profitability
  • Providing project cost reports to Project Managers, and reviewing project performance vs budgets
  • Providing suggestions for cost improvements, reviewing purchasing options for large plant and vehicle procurement and making suitable recommendations where necessary
