Financial Controller

Qualified Senior Financial Controller/Head of Finance – driven, proactive and organised, and alongside strong financial and business knowledge, a perfect candidate for a role leading a finance team. Has developed strong leadership and managerial skills by taking teams through changing environments, creating stability from strategic plans to ensure continuity and support throughout. Has intermediate Excel knowledge and skills. Has also used AX Dynamics, SAP, Qlikview, Hyperion and MS Office.

Responsible for, supporting and developing the Company through the system change to SAP and staff changes. Due to strategic insight was able to see gaps in the teams creating back-ups so when there were changes in the team, they were able to adapt quickly and maintain stability in the work and output of the team.
Lead user in SAP implementation, being responsible for testing, understanding and training. Gained a lot of knowledge not only of SAP but also extensive knowledge of processes, inside and outside of finance, being able to link and work with other departments to ensure SAP was working effectively with finance. A key support and relied upon person from other departments if issues arise.
Oversee and support the production of the month end packages, ensuring these are in line with the internal reporting policies, accounting standards and laws and regulations, to ensure that they are accurate, compliant and are submitted within the deadline.
Production of statutory accounts in line with FRS 101 standards and company act law. Performs analytical reviews to ensure that data is in line with expectations and assists Head of Finance with queries.
Responsible for margin analysis and calculation for budgeting, treasury and foreign currency management and forecasting, CAPEX analysis and budgeting, VAT and corporation tax including RDEC claims and royalty analysis for both actual and budgeting purposes. Has assisted in providing information on KPIs for presentation to the leadership team.
Undertake detailed and in-depth analysis of many areas of finance and linking to outside of finance. Creating reports from multiple sources to aid visibility and clear information including stock, debtors, OPEX and margin analysis. This analysis will include both actual data and links to budget and forecast numbers.

Driven new procedures to find operational effectiveness, such as working with logistics to remove the delay in payment to suppliers to find a new process that suited both finance and logistics in SAP.
Trustee of the pension scheme, which means has oversight of investment strategies and decisions, including investment movements, pension regulator policies and reviewing the assumptions of the valuation. A strategic mindset is needed due to the long-term nature of pension schemes.
Completed a leadership program to enhance skills as a leader and is a proactive member of the extended leadership team.
Has a wealth of knowledge on audit and tax. Acts as the first point of contact to external advisors for these areas.
Been involved in writing job descriptions, recruitment and interviews.
Partook in a transfer pricing exercise providing information and creating a written file to support the UK transfer pricing policies.
