Finance Officer/Assistant Accountant/Payroll Officer

CIMA part-qualified, detailed-oriented accounts professional with over 15 years’ finance experience. Works to a high level of accuracy with good attention to detail and can prioritise workload to adhere to strict deadlines.  Enjoys working to improve systems and efficiency. Has experience of working with several languages, currencies and financial regulations.

  • Processing monthly payroll, new starters, leavers, calculation of part month salaries and statutory payments
  • Submission of monthly RTI reports
  • Posting of payroll journals and reconciliation of payroll accounts
  • Posting of month-end journals – accruals, prepayments, deferred income and recharges
  • Bank reconciliations, authorisation of payments
  • Checking and authorising journals
  • Setting up new suppliers
  • Reconciliation of transactions to bank account
  • Preparing draft monthly management accounts
  • Collating and reviewing monthly timesheets
  • Monthly overhead analysis and production of accruals and prepayments
  • Maintenance of fixed asset register, including monthly depreciating charges
  • Cash flow forecasting and variance analysis
  • Preparing and submitting VAT returns and Intrastat returns
