Management Accountant

Immediately available and highly motivated, commercially minded Management Accountant who prides themself on their ability to work quickly and efficiently whilst maintaining a high level of attention to detail. Has 12 years’ experience in continually changing manufacturing finance departments, consistently showing adaptability and flexibility.

Preparation of annual budgets based on forecasts and analysis of prior year equivalent values
Cash flow management and forecasting, including reporting risks to leadership
Conducting the annual insurance renewal, including all necessary calculations and communications with external insurance brokers
Managing and being responsible for a small team and all areas of the department, including purchase ledger, sales ledger and payroll
Implementation of new procedures with the view to streamline current tasks, including digitalising the whole finance function to enable effective remote working
Collating information regarding sales and exports overseas to submit to external representatives in the relevant countries for the submission of VAT returns and liaising with government authorities with regards to local taxation rules and procedures
Carrying out daily banking, including posting into Sage 50 Accounts

Preparation of monthly management accounts including but not limited to prepayments and accruals, fixed asset register, sales reconciliations, WIP, analysis of costs vs sales and monthly stock takes
Performing balance sheet reconciliations and variance analysis and effectively reporting variances to leadership
Responsible for the annual audit, including preparation and communicating with the auditors
Submission of quarterly GB VAT returns and monthly CIS submissions
Submission of Nest pension contributions and being a point of contact for any pension queries
Aiding other members of team when needed, including purchase and sales ledger
