Financial Controller

ACA qualified Financial Controller. An adaptable, confident and highly motivated person accustomed to working to high standards within tight deadlines. First contact and lead on statutory financial audits
Experienced in establishing finance internal controls and procedures

Handling and preparing statutory and management accounts for all types of companies
First point of contact for clients for both financial and non-financial decisions as a partner in practice
Conversant in Microsoft Windows, Macintosh operating programs, SAP, Sage, Viztopia, Caseware, IRIS and MyWorkpapers

Manage the finance department, this includes the management of several other smaller UK Group companies
Preparing monthly management accounts and submitting to Group under tight deadlines
Producing year end accounts for several companies along with all necessary audit backing
Main contact for the statutory accountants, auditors, tax compliance and R&D teams. Providing all these external parties with the necessary documentation and support.
Reporting weekly to the Directors on the current cash position and the latest forecasts. Highlighting all assumptions and any future issues so they
can be addressed in good time.
Responsible for implementing and documenting all financial internal controls and procedures
Established and written full procedures which comply with that of Group company and which have passed all internal audits
Lead the transfer of the payroll function of all companies to be outsourced when the whole payroll department was made redundant. Becoming the main contact for payroll with the outsourced supplier.
Regular review and implementing cost saving strategies of the companies overheads. This resulted in significant cost savings in first year.
Main contact with bank and responsible for all banking systems
Daily reviews with purchase ledger and credit control to ensure the smooth flow of cash in the business
Responsible for all recruitment aspects of team
Initiated and lead an exercise to liquidate dormant and small companies within Group. Preparing the companies for liquidation and being the
main contact for the liquidators and all external parties.
Preparing and submitting all required Companies House documents for all Group companies
Purchase of all company vehicles, preparing environmental reports and completion of ONS surveys
