Accountancy Practice Manager/Partner

A fully qualified FCA/CTA Accountant with extensive experience within Practice Accounts. Experience in supporting and advising company directors in a wide range of industries. They are an organised individual, accustomed to dealing with­­­­ a high workload and juggling client’s demands. They are comfortable in managing a team, making executive decisions, implementing change, supervising staff and liaising with clients. Very strong technically and would suit a technical Financial Controller role in Industry or senior position in Practice.
  • supervising and reviewing accounts preparation
  • consolidation of group accounts
  • preparing management accounts and information for company directors
  • working with business owners in drafting cashflow projections and business plans
  • meeting clients to present, discuss and finalise accounts
  • liaising with clients regarding profit improvement and business development ideas
  • assisting clients with enquiries on a broad range of issues (eg staffing, financing, etc)
  • researching legislation and compliance issues for clients (eg VAT treatment of property, partially exempt trading)
  • providing personal and corporate tax advice (Income Tax, Capital Gains Tax, VAT, Corporation Tax, etc)
  • supervising the preparation and submission of tax returns to HMRC
  • dealing with all stages of clients’ tax enquiries with HMRC, including negotiation
  • reviewing VAT returns and providing bookkeeping services and advice on financial systems to improve efficiency and ensuring systems provide relevant and timely information, which can add value
  • discussions with clients including financial modelling in relation to proposed restructuring, sales, mergers, acquisitions, etc
  • supervising and undertaking due diligence for sales, mergers and acquisitions of clients’ businesses
  • Assisting start-up businesses, including determining the correct legal structure; incorporating limited companies; securing finance; registering for the relevant taxes (VAT, PAYE, CIS etc); consideration of pricing strategies, etc.
  • general office and staff management, including reviewing the profitability and efficiency of the firm
