25+ years’ experience in credit control and sales ledger environments
Experience at Manager / Team Leader / Senior Credit Controller level
Strong cash collection performance
Proven success reducing debtor days (40+ day reduction)
Ownership of high-value and varied portfolios (including large monthly turnover accounts)
Experienced in aged debt reporting and monthly debt reporting for senior stakeholders/directors
Strong query/dispute resolution and ledger reconciliation capability
Credit checks, account approvals, and credit limit management experience
Background across corporate, government and NHS client bases
Experience handling large billing values and complex customer portfolios
Credit insurance applications/management and liaison with insurers/brokers
Interest invoicing for late payments and structured payment arrangements
Process improvement mindset; identifies inefficiencies and implements new initiatives
Builds strong customer relationships to support service and collections outcomes
Comfortable with customer visits and external meetings
Works effectively to tight deadlines, individual targets and team targets
Previous team leadership includes recruitment, appraisals, coaching and staff development
Adaptable, conscientious and highly organised with strong communication skills
