Are you recruiting for a Chief Operating Officer/Managing Director? Strategic and commercially driven Chief Operating Officer with extensive executive leadership experience across utility sectors, infrastructure, workforce competence, regulated awarding organisations and operational delivery within regulated and safety critical industries. Proven track record leading operational transformation, business growth, compliance governance, and workforce capability programmes while building high-performing teams and scalable operational functions. Experienced in working with industry stakeholders, infrastructure providers, awarding organisations and regulatory bodies to improve competence, quality assurance, operational performance and compliance standards. Recognised as a collaborative and influential leader with strong expertise in operational strategy, stakeholder engagement, organisational improvement, risk management and delivering sustainable business growth. CMI Level 7 qualified. Experienced in utilities and defence.

  • Developing and implementing operational strategies and initiatives to improve organisational efficiency and performance
  • Leading operational delivery across schemes, quality, compliance and operational business functions with full accountability for growth and performance
  • Managing the development and implementation of operational systems and processes to improve visibility, efficiency, governance and scalability
  • Driving operational performance in line with agreed business plans, strategic targets, and growth objectives
  • Supporting the development of financial and budgetary plans while monitoring departmental and company performance
  • Leading regulatory audits and compliance activities to ensure adherence to regulatory conditions, governance frameworks and quality standards
  • Managing company operational policies, procedures, and compliance frameworks to support effective and compliant service delivery
  • Providing Board level reporting, strategic recommendations, operational analysis, and business growth insights
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, training providers and industry organisations to strengthen market position and client satisfaction
  • Leading, motivating, and developing operational, quality and compliance teams aligned to company objectives and organisational culture
  • Supporting strategic business development initiatives, market expansion opportunities and commercial competitiveness reviews
  • Monitoring operational risks and implementing systems and controls to effectively manage business and compliance risks
  • Presenting operational updates, industry insights, and strategic developments to current and prospective clients and stakeholders
