Group Finance Manager/Financial Controller/Financial Accountant

Project involvement: Involvement in a range of projects developed skills in:

• managing and prioritising multiple and often conflicting priorities;
• identifying where escalation of issues is necessary, follow up on previously escalated issues to ensure resolution;
• flexible, adaptable and able to deal well with changes in priority or focus;
• able to maintain focus on regular finance and reporting responsibilities at the same time as project deadlines, team development and ad hoc requests.

Communication and presentation skills:  Able to adapt communication style to the situation, from informal team working, formal presentations to clients to delivering training to non-finance individuals.

Report writing:  Writing various styles of reports to present findings in clear and evidenced manner.

Team management/development: At ease adapting to new work styles of both junior and senior colleagues. Assist in the management and development of members of the Finance team in particular a Junior Financial Accountant. Also attended an internal training program on Managing People for Success.

Building effective rapport:  Able to quickly build relationships with colleagues internally within the UK and within the wider Group. Also worked with numerous external clients such as banking partners to the Office of National Statistics, supplying data and the FLA that provide statistics used in external enchmarking.

IT skills: Proficient use of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel. Use of company specific programs, such as Navision, Qlikview and a basic understanding of SAS.
