Payroll Administrator

Part time 3 days per week (27 hours). £21-23k. To ensure the accurate preparation and timely payment of weekly, fortnightly and monthly payrolls. Preparation of supporting statistical reports for management. Ensure timely payment to Inland Revenue and pension companies. Completing Inland Revenue annual returns.


  • Preparation of weekly wages and salaries for the company and any other associated companies.
  • Preparation of journals for wages and salaries.
  • Monthly payments to Inland Revenue, pension companies, social club, local councils, county courts and Child Support Agency in respect of deductions made from staff and company contributions.
  • Update of Equator system for all staff details.
  • Preparation of annual yearly returns to the Inland Revenue.
  • Preparation of annual P11D returns for staff benefits.
  • Assistance to Business Unit staff in all time and attendance and payroll matters .
  • Assistance to members of the Finance and HR teams as required.
  • Payment of payrolls and purchase ledger payment runs through the BACS system.
  • Employment cost notes.
  • Support & delivery of ad hoc projects or duties as required
  • Other such reasonable duties within the general scope of the job title, at the Line Manager’s direction
  • Understanding Health & Safety legislation, its implications to you, your colleagues and the company
  • Maintain a safe working environment and follow safe working practices.
  • Ensuring that you and your colleagues are committed to product food safety, integrity, quality and legality
  • Ensuring that you are part of and help maintain and develop the food safety culture of the business.

  • You will have a proven track record of running a payroll from start to finish
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Able to manage time and work under pressure to tight deadlines
  • Able to manage the demands of numerous tasks
  • Able to work on own initiative and within a team environment
  • Self motivator and able to motivate others
  • Diplomatic when faced with issues
  • Highly confidential
  • Full driving licence
