Management Accountant

Management Accountant – Newark on Trent – £40-£45k THE OPPORTUNITY You will you will be part of an award winning business and work for a great team.  You will already be a qualified ACCA/CIMA/ACA Accountant with proven track record within Management Accounts. The successful candidate will be pro-active, comfortable with working with a wide range of people from both a finance and non-finance background, and able to work autonomously. Attention to detail and an ability to work to deadlines are essential. THE ROLE Manage the period end close Adherence to Group deadline Journal postings, prepayments & accruals P&L and balance sheet control and analysis Preparation of timely management accounts in line with accounting policies Management of standard costs & stock valuation Weekly and monthly financial and management information reporting Preparing monthly balance sheet reconciliations Analysis & management of production variances Assist in the preparation of the annual budget and quarterly forecasts Managing and maintaining the fixed asset register & depreciation Produce year end statutory accounts Cash flow forecasting – mutli-currency

THE ROLE

  • Manage the period end close
  • Adherence to Group deadline
  • Journal postings, prepayments & accruals
  • P&L and balance sheet control and analysis
  • Preparation of timely management accounts in line with accounting policies
  • Management of standard costs & stock valuation
  • Weekly and monthly financial and management information reporting
  • Preparing monthly balance sheet reconciliations
  • Analysis & management of production variances
  • Assist in the preparation of the annual budget and quarterly forecasts
  • Managing and maintaining the fixed asset register & depreciation
  • Produce year end statutory accounts
  • Cash flow forecasting – mutli-currency
  • Support Operational teams in budget preparation & understanding actual performance
  • Support Operations & Procurement in control and analysis of stock
  • Establish and maintain a strong financial controls environment
  • Developing existing processes, implementing improvements as necessary
  • Liaise with internal and external auditors
  • Ensure statutory and group reporting and compliance
  • Payroll reconciliations
  • Vat and Intrastat reporting
  • Adhoc reporting/project work

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE

  • Qualified ACCA/CIMA or ACA
  •  Advanced excel skills including pivot tables, logic formulas and look ups.
  • Solid Business Partnering skills, the ability to deliver financial information to non finance people
