Legal Secretary Commercial Conveyancing Department – £18 – £25k – Skegness – Hours of work: Full-time position Monday to Friday (inclusive) 9.00am – 5.00pm with one hour for lunch.

The Role

  • The prime role of the Legal Secretary within the commercial conveyancing department is to provide cost effective administrative and secretarial support to their principal and to other fee earners to enable them to operate at optimum efficiency.
  • The postholder will be able to work effectively under pressure in a busy department, have good organisational skills, time management capabilities and ability to prioritise work.
  • You will be familiar with conveyancing practices and procedures, including having a knowledge of property registration processes and Land Registry systems and documentation.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Minimum of 3 years’ secretarial experience in a conveyancing/property role.
  • GCSE or equivalent English – Minimum grade 5 or equivalent, possessing good written skills with ability to pay good attention to detail in respect of content, grammar, spelling and punctuation.
  • GCSE or equivalent Maths – Minimum grade 5 or equivalent.
  • Good word-processing and audio typing skills.
  • Have a good working knowledge of IT and Microsoft packages.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills and ability to pay close attention to detail.
  • Ability to prioritise work and multi-task, whilst paying close attention to detail.
  • Ability to be adaptable when working under pressure.
  • Able to work autonomously and as part of a team.
  • Ability to project a professional and friendly image of the Company to all clients, visitors, 3rd parties with ability to communicate openly and effectively.
  • Confidence to deal with difficult clients and other professionals both in person and on the telephone.
  • High degree of integrity, protecting client/company information at all times and having a good understanding of Data Protection.
  • Willingness and enthusiasm to proactively work with marketing/team members to promote the Company and its services and to attend marketing/company events.
