Finance Assistant (Fixed Term Contract)

This position is for a four-month fixed-term contract – £20k. The key responsibilities of this role are to support the Financial Transactional Team in the performance of their duties, to achieve the Team Deadlines and Targets.


  • Petty Cash – process and reconcile our petty cash for each of the areas of business.
  • Expenses – process and ensure that the appropriate expenses are in line with policy and approved by the appropriate signatory.
  • Expenses Programme – ensure that the information held on the business expense program is up to date with company policy, HMRC Guidelines, appropriate line manager information, and employee data.
  • Amazon – to manage the Amazon accounts for the business, ensure that all postings are made to the business finance package and that they reconcile back to the Amazon data.
  • Administration – to ensure that all purchase ledger invoices have been scanned into the business program and filed/archived correctly.
  • Support – to provide support to the Transactional Team where required in order for the whole team to achieve the targets/goals set by the business’s Senior Management.
  • Identify personal training needs and attend appropriate training to develop relevant knowledge, techniques, and skills.
  • Adhere to the Employee Handbook and all Company policies and procedures; particularly those relating to Health & Safety and safeguarding the welfare of pupils/residents.
  • Carry out any other duties as assigned by management.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Experience in using Excel
  • Minimum 2 years experience in an accounts department
  • Available at short notice
  • Good attention to detail
