Finance Assistant

Finance Assistant – Brigg – £20 – £25k + benefits + study support.   To support the Financial Controller, Finance team, and wider organisation, in this fast-paced FMCG environment, to deliver effective and efficient transaction processing, ensuring timely receipts and payments, supported by excellent information and communication.  

The Role:

 

  • Take overall ownership of all Purchase Ledger and Sales Ledger activities, managing invoice processing and payments, delivering agreed KPI’s and supporting colleagues where tasks delegated
  • Maintaining regular contact with customers and suppliers, dealing with issues effectively
  • Ensuring accurate bank reconciliations, both sterling, and foreign bank accounts
  • Submission of monthly reports to external companies, HMRC, and other stakeholders
  • Overseeing our invoice process, including control and monthly stock analysis
  • Supported by the Financial Controller, oversee balance sheet controls and management for designated accounts
  • Providing support to Financial Controller and Finance Director in all duties to ensure the company maintains financial records in a correct manner and reports useful information to aid business performance and decision making

Essential Skills and Knowledge:

 

  • Experience of Sales and Purchase ledger, including credit control preferred
  • A good communicator, able to work well with a variety of people and get things done
  • Experience of working within a SME Finance team, ideally in a manufacturing environment, is desirable but not essential
  • Broader experience of working across customer and supplier support roles will be considered
  • Excellent Excel capability, other MS capabilities advantageous
