The Role:

Maternity cover is required for the Commercial Finance area. This is an important role providing finance support and analysis to the business to ensure rational and quick decisions are made to support the company’s success. The areas supported include the sales, marketing and production teams. The role is also focussed on providing quality input into the finance team for budgeting & forecasting and the analysis of actual results and developing reporting in the new finance system (Dyamincs 365) and identifying efficiencies.

The successful candidate will be a key member of the finance team and will be able to work effectively within this team as well as quickly develop strong and mutually supportive relationships with the relevant business areas.

The company have recently implemented Microsoft Business Central (Dynamics 356) and PowerBI and the Commercial Finance candidate will be expected to design and build new insightful reporting to start to maximise the benefits of this new system. Knowledge of Business Central would be helpful but not essential.

Key responsibilities:

  • Demonstrable experience of quick learning & building relationships in a new role and company and delivering results quickly (as this is a maternity leave cover position)
  • Supporting the commercial business areas through providing information and analysis to enable informed decision making on sales, marketing and production (factory)
  • Preparing robust budget / forecasts including input from commercial areas to feed into the company budget / forecast
  • Analysing monthly actual results to understand performance trends and reporting to the Finance Director and business owners
  • Shaping the use of the new system (Business Central) through building new reporting

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Qualified accountant / Part qualified /QBE with previous experience in a commercial finance role (business partnering) is essential
  • Proven ability to “hit the ground running” in a fixed term role
  • Preparation of budgets and forecasts and an ability to interpret/explain the outputs
  • Experience of working with Microsoft Business Central and PowerBI – including identifying and building insightful new reporting, and implementing process improvements / efficiencies
  • Ability to work and communicate with both finance and non-finance people and happy to challenge to seek the right decisions for the company
  • Organised and can manage own deadlines and workload
  • Confident using excel
