Shipping Assistant – Bourne – £20k-£22k + benefits. The Shipping Assistant will play a pivotal role within the organisation, supporting export and shipping activities. Preparing export documentation as per contractual obligations to ensure customers satisfaction and timely receipt of cargo
Supporting the export and sales activities ensuring timely payment of product
Contributing to the successful execution of shipments by issuing on-time error-free documentation.
Monitoring the movement of the products/Containers to the customers/destinations.
Working with the various service providers and booking their services when required (Fumigation, Chamber of commerce, etc…) to ensure the contractual terms are all met.
Identifying the requirements with respect to documentation for the successful execution of sales contracts.
Ensuring the documents required for each contract are complete and accurate as well as forwarded within a strict time frame for the customer to be able to clear the product on time.
Alerting other departments (Sales, Accounting, Shipping), as applicable, of any issues that may arise in the execution of the shipment and/or payment with clear details of the shipment status, including options to resolve it with related costs in order to make an informed decision.
Submitting timely document instructions to freight forwarders and other service providers as per the contracts’ requirements.
Ensuring compliance with export laws and regulations
Maintaining the export files and manuals up to date in the physical and on the server manual folders.
Upon facing any issue, immediately alerting the supervisor, and working together on a solution
Supporting other departments involved in international business transactions as directed by your supervisor.
Updating and Maintaining Excel Databases with information of shipments.

Ability to work independently and proactively identify, research, and solve problems
