Whilst the brand is well known to Lincolnshire residents, they had struggled to attract seniors and semi-seniors. With Lincolnshire salaries in finance traditionally lower than Nottingham and London, mid-career accountants resistant to the perceived backwaters of Lincolnshire.
As always, we started with building up a picture of what it was like to work there. What was the client base, what was the reputation, what would the career prospects be like? How much business development would be required?
We pulled together packs for each location, looking at the local environments and talking up the advantages of working in a smaller community than a crowded urban setting. Lincolnshire is a hidden gem of a county with affordable housing, free grammar school places and easy access to the east coast.
We started to get an in-depth understanding of each branch office and the job requirements.
We agreed terms with the HR team and signed a non-compete agreement. This provided peace of mind and moreover – an idea of the schedule of costs that enabled budgeting – there would be no nasty surprises.
We handled all of the first stage interviews, compliance checks and due diligence of every candidate we put forward. We negotiated terms that were acceptable for both parties.
The project was then rolled out to include support role vacancies in IT, payroll, and marketing and have freed up time for the in-house HR team.
