Recent assignments

  • A recruitment agency with a focus on finance and accountancy in Lincolnshire. I created the wireframe for a new website. Once commissioned, I wrote blogs and case studies with green SEO rankings.
  • A civils company – I was hired to “get the name out there” and reactivate sales. In six weeks grew the LinkedIn followers from 54 to 225 and quadrupled the website traffic with no spend.
  • A reseller of computer systems, interactive panels and accessories into the education and corporate sectors. I was hired to make a revenue stream for IP owned imported products into education; develop a proposition for whiteboards into non-education users and introduce campaigns, ROI measurement on spend.
  • An Amazon and eBay seller of gifts and collectibles. Controlled Google AdWords spend, website refresh and built up B2C sales direct to the end users through Facebook.
  • A design, print and website company. Following a one-day workshop developed a plan to optimise sales from existing customers and implement KPIs for the team. I was retained to mentor the owner monthly and support BD with follow-up calls.
  • Put forward by Business Lincolnshire to support this fast-growing luxury car leasing company by installing some order. Produced a linear workflow and process map, interviewed all members of staff (30) and fed back results to the Board.

Previous achievements

  • Lead generation – self-generated 200 new cases for a High Street law firm in 8 months, average value of £500 per case. I set up a lead capture system, the source of the enquiry, the method, the matter type. Our conversion rate is 37%. I report daily and follow up with the teams if enquiries have not been progressed.
  • Wrote directory submissions for Legal 500 and Chambers & Partners managing to get listings in PI and Family.
  • Gained grants from NBV and Business Lincolnshire to upgrade the IT system, telephony and put two screens on each person’s desk. This boosted morale and improved productivity and reduced wasted down time.
  • Wrote the business plan for the health team of a Top 50 national law firm to £20m revenue by year end 2017/18, doubling the turnover in five years.
  • Identified 9 areas of focus. 80% of turnover was coming from three national accounts, the independent healthcare sector and Mental Capacity/ Court of Protection. Supported the legal teams to write up and deliver their business plans in this area. Set up regular communication meetings with regional offices which also follow the same commercial model, thereby increasing cross-selling opportunities, breaking down silos and giving a push to lateral hires.
  • Set up two tier governance structure (secretariat) which brought accountability and oversight.
  • Wrote the technical brief, wireframe and content for the health portal.  This garnered 2700 unique visitors a month, generated leads and acted as a visual focal point for content for the in-house teams.
  • Bid co-ordinating and pricing. Changed the language the teams were using in response to tenders from a long list of features and “we” to thinking about the client and spelling out the benefit. This is not yet perfect but improved the win rate. Developed an innovative fixed fee pricing option for a hospital trust with a fair usage policy meaning the client has assurance on legal spend and that the account can be run profitably.
