  • Leading HR team to deliver excellent internal customer service to managers and colleagues
  • Providing appropriate and pragmatic support, advice, and guidance on best HR practice
  • Managing a diverse range of casework, using knowledge of employment law and HR practice to ensure the best outcome, including coaching and supporting managers
  • Supporting the talent management programme, ensuring the development of employees, and  promoting from within, where appropriate
  • Managing change initiatives from a people perspective, including organisational development
  • Ensuring that procedures, processes, and policies are up to date and in line with current legislation and accepted best HR practice
  • Leading a large team and managing a number of budgets
  • Developing and managing a staff consultation group resulting in a restructure and changes to contracts
  • Contributing to the restructuring of the Senior Management Team, enabling the recruitment of  new Directors
  • Introducing a 360®appraisal scheme
  • Developing a comprehensive Human Resources policy manual to support management teams
  • Implementing job evaluations and a review, resulting in the change of terms and conditions
  • Strategic and Human Resource Planning to match organisational aspirations
  • Introducing HR Management Information System and Performance Indicators for HR to manage sickness absence, and inform decision making
  • Developing a Management competency framework
  • Annual development of an operating plan for the department
  • Managing a reduced budget and staffing during a financially challenging time
  • Introducing psychometric testing to the organisation, improving the selection process
  • Change management of a shift pattern affecting 250 staff
  • Developing and delivering a management training programme, including coaching managers
  • Developing the use of e-learning to better equip new starters on joining
