Responsible for all payroll tasks including setting up new starters, processing leavers, issuing P45s, calculating holiday pay, preparing and completing a 4 weekly payroll, submitting relevant pension information to HMRC and pension providers.

  • Advise on first-line HR queries
  • Absence management including reports, identifying trends, holding weekly absence update meetings with senior managers, supporting line managers in employee formal
    absence reviews
  • Carry out formal investigations, including all minutes and coaching and development of managers
  • Support in ER case management; disciplinary, performance management, and grievances
  • Manage Occupational Health processes including preparing referral reports
  • Ensure all health surveillance is undertaken as required by law
  • Support with recruitment activity; liaise with employment agencies, advertise vacancies, shortlist and arrange interviews
  • Chair monthly works council meetings, take minutes, and feedback to the wider business
  • Prepare and issue employment contracts, job offer packs, and references requests
  • Management and delivery of new starter induction process – including substance testing, medicals, and checking right to work documents
  • Management of leavers process – confirming resignation, conducting exit interview, updating HR/payroll systems
  • Management of training requests, issue certificates, and log on company compliance training register
  • Support managers with the appraisal process including logging information
  • Provide training to line managers on new HR processes and policy changes
  • Research and prepare information for policy development and updates
  • Prepare documentation for payroll; notification of phase down hours, paternity/maternity entitlements, and reductions in employee sickness benefits
  • Support the promotion of Company strategy and values and rollout activities as requested
  • Undertake all HR admin duties as required by the role or directed by the HR Controller/Manager
  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to GDPR regulations at all times
  • Escalate all complex queries to the HR Controller as and when required
  • Work as part of the wider UK HR team to support the delivery of the HR objectives and business goals
